i was at a party tonight. i spent a long time sitting on cody's porch, picking at the bamboo growing up between the slats. the leaves were tough; cables ran through them -telphone pole to house.
morgan and nathan talked about bukowsi and other drunks. i played with the leaf. they talked about how people can't really tell each other what to do. at some point morgan put his keffiyah on my head. i sat there wrapped in a palestinian scarf and beer, plucking bamboo under clouds and moonlight.
